Eesan - A Review By Sreeni R

Sasikumar was applauded for his effort in Subramaniapuram and obviously people had high hopes on this one. Well to be very frank, i never liked Subramaniapuram very much and i would only call it a decent film.

Sasikumar had a great responsibility this time around, To save his fame and at the same time save the Film. Oh yeah and he unfortunately failed to do both.

The film starts off with the scene where Chezhiyan's (Vaibhav) friends tease a girl they met at the party that night on the road, she on the scooty and they in a scorpio. Ofcourse it leads to an accident and they get arrested and Vaibhav helps them get out without a scratch as his father is a Minister (Now what minister was he??? am clueless). Chezhiyan falls in love (is it so?) with the daughter of a Businessman from Bangalore (Mallya's legs pulled here) who does not like the Minister as they don have the status (yawnnnn) The minister now influenced by his assistant plans and somehow manages to Make the Businessman understand that Their children's life is more important than theirs and that they should forget abt all their earlier problems (which arises as the businessman refuses to give a proper cut to the Minister on a Company project). Ofcourse the minister does all this for all that money the businessman has. Now as this keeps goin like a snail there comes a day when Chezhiyan gets kidnapped. Now there is this Police officer Mr.Sangaiyya (Samudhirakani) being assigned to find him (the only good guy in the film other than the protagonist). He investigates and finds out that the killer is none other than Mr.Eesan (a 11th std kid who is the lil brother of the Heroine who is dumb and wujynmgjho is raped and killed by Chezhiyan and his friend Vinod). Now sangaiyya finds him and the bad guys find him too and the usual cinematic climax. This is the story of Eesan.

Now lets analyse the film.

The moment they revealed the face of the so called all powerful Dheivam the villain Minister i started laughing, because he looked like a joke. Not to mention i got some stares from my neighbors. Okay half way into the movie nobody had a clue what the film is all about.

Music was bad. Excuse me people, kindly get the rite people for the rite job. The film is about PUB culture and the music never portrayed the culture. James Vasanthan is a great guy, but you see one can never be the Master of all.

Cinematography was good in parts and in all other places it was completely stripped off colors and i have no idea why they had to do it. Too many Crane shots brothers, and it made no sense to me. Sometimes they were trying to complete the entire scene in a shot and it was not very smooth. I've seen shots made like this before and they are supposed to be silky smooth. If you can't then dont because people actually know what is Good and Bad.

Editing was also equally sluggish to add to the already irritating narrative.

Mr.Sasi Kumar failed this time. I dont know; there could be people who think this film is good. But its upto them. I completely hate this film.

Abhinaya was totally cool. I seriously loved her on screen. She has a great screen presence and she did an amazing job with her role.

Now there is one particular thing that i would like filmmakers to follow. To explain us Who is Who and what is happening on screen. Actually flashback scene starts with a song and it shows (or tries to show) the love and bonding between the Sister Poorni (Abhinaya) and Eesan her brother, but you know what i seriously got confused whether they are siblings or lovers because nothing is established before the scene and one could easily imagine that They are Lovers. (thappu thappu... Kannathula pottukitten)

My verdict...
Please go watch this film if you wanna know that PUBS could be BORING, GIRLS could be SENSELESS MORONS, 120 mins could look like 240 mins, SCENES could be just like that MADE UP, IRRITATING SUSPENSES, VAGUE PUPOSELESS STORY LINE, a COMICAL villain (which was not intended), CLICHES CLICHES CLICHES!!!

This is my harshest review till date and i usually never criticize a film so much but "Eesan" is an exception. It is in one aspect much much more better than "Sindhu Samaveli" for which i couldn't even write a review.

Ufff... Now Sreeni please cool down... hmmm...
