"Carpe Diem" Says The Dead Poets Society

What is the use in living, expecting that something would happen tomorrow?
What is the use in living, making steady plans for tomorrow?

There is no use in any of the above. We are here now and that is all that matters, isn't it? Nobody in this world except God knows what will happen tomorrow. We are just humans, weak in body and heart and soul trying to mend things in our own way. Why do i say we are weak? Yes of course, we are weak, aren't we weak when we cannot control our tomorrow? This film "Dead Poets Society" time and again reminds the watcher that he/she shouldn't leave anything to the future. This film is full of strong ideas but then given to the viewer in a sugar coated layer.

"Carpe Diem" means Seize the Day in Latin.
Do it today and start doing it now because nobody knows how tomorrow will be. Do what you like and strive hard to make it happen. What's the use in living somebody else's life? Somebody else's Dream? We were born for a reason and everybody has their own purpose to solve. Try finding that reason in life and try achieving what you want. This is the idea that DPS projects.

I Hate Love Stories - A Review By Jaik M

It was Friday evening and I was looking forward to a Film that could be the ingredient for the Feel Good factor. So ‘I hate Love stories’ sounded like a Film to unwind after those hurried Weekdays. The film brought in the fresh feel for the evening through Imran and Sonam. Both together lifted the style quotient of the film. One could look out for the apparels from Flying Machine that was quite fashionable.

Well now for the story of the film Jay works for Director Veer and is quite frustrated about the routine Bollywood Romantic Flicks.  In comes Simran who dreams about bollywood love stories and craves for Mr.Right. She has found the Mr.Right (Raj) a childhood friend. The story moves forward off how Jay and Simran happen to work together and eventually have their values of what they believe tested which forms the rest off the story. The pun on Bollywood romantic flicks and making fun off Kuch Kuch hota hai and DDLJ were part off the interesting narrative. The supporting actors playing the characters of Veer , Jezzel and Shahrukh look alike pulled out decent performances.

The Karate Kid - A Review By Sreeni R

Why do we go to watch a FILM?
There cud be 1000 reasons but the prime reason is entertainment isn't it?

Myself and my Brother walked into the theater without any hope or expectation. Of course there was a basic expectation like "Well its a Jackie Film and it is supposed to be good and a fun film", "Well, it has Jaden Smith in it, whose previous flick was Awesome", "This film is definitely supposed to be good, otherwise Will is not gonna Co-produce" and stuff like this.

Once the film started I knew that I was gonna watch one of the best films of this season. Man, Jaden is a star and I can tell you with content that he's gonna do films with more latitude than his father. He's just a kid but you'll see an acting experience of at least 3 times his age. The subtlety and the novelty in his performance is impeccable and Taraji P. Henson as his Mother has done justice to the role, that's all. Most of the times her expression looks very repetitive, but u can excuse or even go without noticing it bcos the story is abt the lil boy. :)

Inception - A Review By Sreeni R

Sometimes people do things because they feel they have to do them. There can be thousands of reasons for them to do that thing, Pressure from Family, Pressure from Society, Pressure from Peers etc, and they don’t mind doing them. They just do it so that they can stay alive, live a dull life, a safe life. Then there are people who belong to a different category. They don’t give a damn what the world thinks about them .They will do what they like and they will achieve what they wanted to achieve, those are the guys who’ve always made revolutions, those care the people who’ve brought upon a great change in this world and they are the people who’ll be remembered forever. Nolan is one such guy. A guy who can transform his dreams into cinema, convert his thoughts into a mellifluous story on Celluloid.

Vamsam - A Review By Sreeni R

Yesterday (14th Aug 2010) was amazing. I met my long time Friend Nishanth after 4 years. He was in the US doing some crazy stuff which themselves can become an interesting screenplay. So after lunch he wanted to go some place. Half of my friends would've guessed this by this time, being me, I naturally suggested we go to a movie. We ended up in Mayajaal. At the ticket counter we noticed that almost all the movies were full and the there were only 3 films left for the 5:30 show. One was "Thillaalangadi", two was "Ananthaputahu veedu" which was quite old and then there was Vamsam.I was thinking logically that Vamsam would be the rite choice as that will lemme write a review for the same which will help me gather a few hits to my website (which otherwise does not attract much crowd :P) So Vamsam it was.

Maryada Ramanna - A Review By Sreeni R

We went to the new AGS hall in Villivakkam for the first time and lemme tell you, I was more interested in checking out the theatre rather than the movie. We were just discussing about how this movie was doing and people's reaction etc. Just the normal kind of discussions that guys usually have before they go to a movie. My friend Jaik interestingly, saw the movie in Bangalore and he was not very happy with it (Please note the word VERY). I was skeptical about this film because it had Sunil in the lead and I’ve seen his "Andhala Raamudu" which had some very good examples of Bad acting. Brother Sunil please, please, please Forgive me for being so judgmental, but sometimes truth has to be told and you being a down to earth and a very frank guy I think you will bear with me. Though I was all the time thinking why "Maryada Ramanna (MR)" after "Magadheeraa"? That is the fact which actually wanted me to watch this film.

Naan Mahaan Alla - A Review By Sreeni R

My Lil brother and me are on a film watching spree. It was Madarasapattinam yesterday and the much awaited “Naan Mahaan Alla” today. On my way back from work i just called him to come n pick me and i just like that asked him if he was game for “Naan Mahaan Alla” as expected he said yes (You see it runs in the blood). So went home ate a quick dinner and then off we went to a local theatre in our area. It did not matter, what theatre it was all that mattered was "Naan Mahan Alla" on day one.
